📋 Description

• Serve as a subject matter expert and lead the estimating team through every phase of the procurement and bidding process • Coordinate complex bid efforts, ensuring accuracy, technical compliance, and alignment across estimating disciplines • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members • Set performance standards and champion process improvements and new initiatives • Support negotiations and participate in client presentations • Help differentiate Blattner in competitive pursuits and support closing new work • Identify and calculate project safety requirements and JHA risks into bids • Pursue, select, and utilize subcontractors meeting DHB risk management criteria • Comply with and enforce company policies and procedures during bidding • Utilize company estimating software and perform bid reviews • Ensure quality bids are produced • Plan estimates for and during pre-bid meetings • Create preliminary project schedules during estimates • Support troubleshooting and problem solving of complex project issues

🎯 Requirements

• 4 or more years of construction or engineering degree with experience as an Estimator or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience in mathematics including algebra and geometry • 8 or more years of progressive estimating and preconstruction experience with increasing levels of responsibility • Leadership of crew-based and governance-driven estimating efforts • Experience with mission-critical construction projects such as hyperscale or enterprise data centers, gas-fired power plants, or large commercial and industrial facilities • Experience within a PMO, CMAR, or General Contractor organization, or supporting large-scale, multi-disciplinary utility-scale power generation projects • Advanced knowledge of construction market, estimating strategies, estimating techniques, cost control, and proper scheduling of purchases and work • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Highly proficient computer skills; HCSS Heavy Bid preferred
