📋 Description

• Manage the instrumentation and controls engineering program for the company’s gas generation segment • Serve as company program engineering representative from proposal through construction completion • Define engineering and gas business plans for the gas generation segment • Establish relationships with business units, equipment suppliers, and balance-of-plant providers • Understand client design criteria and evolving gas-generation market design trends • Coordinate engineering activities and integrate client and company technical activities • Develop and facilitate safety standards for the gas-generation engineering program • Ensure projects comply with applicable industry standards for reciprocating engine and combustion turbine installations and fuel gas systems • Perform root cause analysis for engineering and instrumentation and controls issues • Develop and implement program-management policies, standards, procedures, and design guardrails • Own design bases for power-block and balance-of-plant instrumentation and controls • Integrate instrumentation and controls with electrical generator, equipment, protection, and power systems • Evaluate technologies, resource needs, market demands, project feasibility, and value-engineering opportunities • Maintain design-basis document libraries and support procurement and estimating teams • Review scopes for completeness and identify gaps or overlaps among suppliers, vendors, and company responsibilities • Support constructability reviews to reduce field labor and improve installation quality • Support plant startup, first fire, synchronization, performance testing, and commissioning • Act as escalation point for instrumentation and controls commissioning issues • Review design, installation, and commissioning for power-generation block and balance-of-plant instrumentation and controls • Own controller communication protocols, interface design, DCS integration, and data historian configuration

🎯 Requirements

• Four-year Engineering degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited college • 5+ years of progressive engineering experience in gas power generation • Two or more years of leadership experience • Registered Professional Engineering (PE) license is strongly preferred • Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR) • Up to 25% travel required • Knowledge of reciprocating engine and gas turbine equipment and associated balance of plant equipment • Knowledge of MODBUS, Profi-Bus, Foundation Field-Bus, and other communication protocols • Knowledge of civil, mechanical-instrumentation and controls, and electrical power engineering principles • Familiarity with computer and analytical tools, equipment sizing, construction design, and 3-D modeling • Familiarity with instrumentation and controls programming and commissioning tools • Familiarity with Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) • Familiarity with Emissions Control Systems, primarily Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) • Familiarity with power-generation engineering standards and best practices • Effective oral, written, listening, and presentation communication skills
