📋 Description

• Lead the procurement and estimating process by coordinating bidding procedures • Ensure bid accuracy and technical compliance • Help secure new project awards through negotiation, presentations, and communicating the company’s differentiators • Identify and calculate project safety requirements, PPE, training, and JHA risk costs into bids • Pursue, select, and utilize subcontractors meeting risk management criteria • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures when bidding projects • Produce quality bids using company estimating software and bid reviews • Plan estimates for and during pre-bid meetings • Create preliminary project schedules during estimates • Supervise and develop subordinates through mentoring, formal training, and diverse work experiences • Conduct project site visits • Review cost/production reports to compare actual costs and plans against estimates • Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard cost data

🎯 Requirements

• Four-year construction or engineering degree with five to seven years of experience as an Estimator or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience in mathematics including algebra and geometry; or equivalent training and/or experience; with an emphasis in Gas Powered Generation • Advanced knowledge of construction market, estimating strategies, estimating techniques, cost control and proper scheduling of purchases and work • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, cost coding systems • Ability to identify and calculate project safety requirements and JHA risks into bids • Ability to pursue, select and utilize subcontractors meeting risk management criteria • Proficiency using company estimating software and performing bid reviews
