📋 Description

• Provide technical leadership and architectural vision for Blue River Technology's Robotics Team • Lead the design, development, and execution of complex software systems for autonomous platforms • Work across Deere engineering groups to change vehicle safety behavior, control vehicles, and unlock valuable data signals • Drive technical vision and software architecture across multi-quarter robotics initiatives • Establish design patterns and engineering best practices • Architect, design, and maintain high-performance, fault-tolerant robotics software systems • Partner with Robotics, Perception, Machine Learning, Hardware, Systems Engineering, and Product teams • Define software requirements, hardware-software interfaces, and system-level validation plans • Champion coding standards, automated testing, continuous integration, and real-world deployment protocols • Guide and mentor senior, mid-level, and junior engineers through design reviews, clean code practices, and system troubleshooting • Stay current with robotics, AI/ML, dynamic controls, and real-time computing trends

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 4+ years in a Principal or Staff-level capacity within robotics, autonomous vehicles, aerospace, or heavy machinery automation • Expert-level proficiency in modern C++ and Python within Linux-based development environments • Deep hands-on experience with robotics frameworks such as ROS/ROS 2 or CyberRT • Expertise in motion planning, kinematics, trajectory generation, localization, perception, or control theory • Experience with multi-threaded C++ applications and basic IPC • Experience writing software interfacing with physical hardware or sensors such as LIDAR, cameras, IMUs, or GPS • Ability to work across high-level system architecture and debug complex hardware-software integration edge cases • Ability to balance long-term architectural quality with short-term shipping velocity • Ability to build alignment across multidisciplinary engineering, product, and leadership teams • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field • Individual applicants only; unsolicited third-party agencies or proxy interview services are not accepted
