• Support the day-to-day administrative coordination and operations of the Military Families Outdoors program • Assist with event promotion, planning, and registration for Blue Star Connect Outdoors events • Support recruitment and selection of families for near-nature and extended nature overnight trips • Perform administrative tasks for the Blue Star Connect Outdoors program • Track event registrations, attendance metrics, and the events calendar • Assist with the Military Families Outdoors communication strategy, including updating the social media calendar, organizing and sharing event photos, and updating the Blue Star Neighborhood MFO Community Group • Use and manage project management technologies and tools, including HIVE, Hive Brite, Salesforce, Google Workspace Suite, and Zoom • Build relationships within Blue Star Families and with external organizations to support collaboration and identify opportunities for change • Maintain understanding of organizational strategic goals, targets, and priorities • Perform other duties as assigned • Travel overnight out of town several times per year for staff offsites, planning retreats, and company-wide events
• Bachelor's degree or comparable experience • 1–2 years of relevant work experience • Project Management system experience or ability to learn new software • Cultural competency with the active-duty military family lifestyle • Extensive knowledge of program development, management, evaluation, and reporting • Ability to work independently while managing and supporting team efforts in a geographically dispersed, fast-paced organization • Comfortable managing multiple projects • Experience managing volunteers • Strong technology skills, including Salesforce (CRM), Google Docs, and Hive; comfort with conference and web calls • Experience working with non-profit partner organizations and military families • May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays; travel may be required for meetings, training, and events • Organized, able to plan well, adapt to changing situations, and solve problems effectively • Effective communication with people from different backgrounds and ability to foster teamwork • Experience with CRM systems; familiarity with Salesforce a plus • Experience working in outdoor recreation is a plus
