• Manage income, contract, donor, and grant accounts, including deposits, balances, and expense authorization • Serve as primary contact for post-award issues, including reimbursements, purchases, invoice payments, staffing, consulting payments, subcontracts, budget analysis, and financial planning • Track budgets, actuals, and projections using the internal forecast model • Review and reconcile monthly accounts to actual expenditures • Maintain master reconciliation workbooks and centralized post-award files • Manage account closeout processes and checklists • Collaborate with Principal Investigators and Research Administration and Finance staff on budgets • Generate and distribute financial reports • Coordinate with departmental, hospital, university, purchasing, accounts payable, payroll, and external organization contacts • Develop and monitor annual budgets for divisions, Pediatric Research Services, and Principal Investigators • Manage payroll information and centralized personnel files • Collaborate with Principal Investigators on employee hiring • Orient and advise faculty, staff, students, residents, and fellows on financial policies and procedures • Assist with pre-award processes, including budget creation • Attend research administration, departmental, and research leadership meetings • Follow hospital, safety, infection control, and RAF policies and procedures
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of experience • Appropriate combination of education, certifications, and/or relevant work experience will be considered • Minimum 3 years of financial, grant administration, and/or budget management experience required • Healthcare or non-profit experience preferred • Knowledge of federal and non-federal grants • Knowledge of grants administration policies and practices • Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment • Ability to anticipate objections, plan responses, perform effectively in stressful situations, and solve problems • Exceptional organization and ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines • Proficiency with standard office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and web browsers • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with interdisciplinary teams and outside contacts • Dedicated team player willing to learn and impart knowledge to staff • Must complete a background check before employment • Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and flu and receive a COVID-19 booster
