• Provide practical legal advice on commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, development, construction, property management, and asset administration • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial real estate transaction documents and related agreements • Lead legal due diligence, including title, survey, zoning, environmental, organizational, lease, and property-record reviews • Identify, analyze, communicate, and help resolve legal and business risks • Manage transaction execution from structuring through closing and oversee closing deliverables • Partner with business, finance, operations, tax, compliance, risk, and other stakeholders • Coordinate and supervise outside counsel, title companies, surveyors, consultants, brokers, lenders, counterparties, and other transaction participants • Advise on ongoing contractual compliance and post-closing commitments • Research commercial real estate law and applicable federal, state, and local requirements • Support real estate disputes, claims, and pre-litigation matters • Maintain organized legal files, transaction records, agreements, and status reporting while protecting confidential information • Perform other duties as assigned
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school • Active membership in good standing with at least one United States state bar • Eligibility to practice in the applicable jurisdiction or obtain required in-house counsel registration • Four plus (4+) years of substantive commercial real estate experience • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial real estate transaction documents and managing due diligence and closings • Strong knowledge of commercial real estate transactions, leasing, title and survey matters, financing, entity structures, due diligence, and closing processes • Strong contract drafting, legal analysis, negotiation, issue-spotting, and risk-assessment skills • Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, concise, actionable business guidance • Sound judgment balancing legal risk, business objectives, operational needs, and transaction timelines • Strong project-management and organizational skills • Ability to work independently, exercise discretion, and collaborate with executives, business partners, external counsel, and counterparties • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, responsiveness, professional ethics, and client service • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research, contract-management, document-management, and electronic-signature tools
