📋 Description

• Travel to commercial and industrial job sites to accurately measure existing structures and openings for new product installation, or travel to fix products on site as needed • Create detailed field reports, sketches, and photo documentation of site conditions, including dimensions, obstructions, and structural details • Communicate measurement discrepancies, site challenges, or required design modifications to Sales and Engineering teams • Maintain and calibrate measuring and field documentation equipment, including laser distance meters, cameras, and tablets • Follow company safety protocols and site-specific safety requirements • Assist Sales with technical support, pre-bid site walk-throughs, and project feasibility assessments • Assist the production floor as needed when field measure work is complete • Provide hands-on troubleshooting and customer coordination to resolve field issues

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years experience in a travel-heavy field position • Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from architectural and construction drawings (blueprints) • Proficiency with measuring instruments, including tape measures, levels, and laser distance measurement devices • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record • Competency with mobile devices, tablets, and basic CAD/sketching software for field documentation • Proficient experience in welding • Welding certifications preferred • Live in the Chicago metro area • Ability to travel as needed • Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment • Ability to influence without direct authority • Must be able to load, unload and handle a 65 lb. extension ladder • Must be able to carry a 30 lb. tool bag • Must be able to work in conditions from 0 F to 100 F • Ability to talk with customers and coordinate what is needed to fix the issue • Demonstrated application of CDI core values • Clean driving record and real ID
