📋 Description

• Lead the systems and engineering organization through a transition from a traditional IT and administration-centric organization to one focused on platform and data engineering • Own the technical architecture, design, and delivery roadmap across business systems, enterprise data, and integrations • Manage and grow systems and engineering managers and direct reports through technical mentorship and career pathing • Establish standards, style guides, workflows, ceremonies, and engineering/systems practices in a coherent operating model leveraging AI and agentic processes • Partner with Product, Success, and Program Management to prioritize and deliver the BADaS roadmap • Translate business, process, and product requirements into technical scope, staffing, and sequencing decisions • Serve as the internal technical counterpart to vendors and partners by reviewing architecture proposals, approving technical designs, and owning technical builds • Own security, RBAC, and data-governance posture of BADaS platforms, particularly audit and access-control risk • Partner with Chainalysis engineering leaders on best practices and reuse of existing platforms, components, solutions, and codebases • Help advance AI-driven intelligence at Chainalysis, a blockchain data platform connecting digital-asset movement to real-world services

🎯 Requirements

• Must be CST or EST • 8+ years of experience in software, platform, or data engineering • 4+ years managing engineers and engineering managers • Organizational leadership experience, including hiring, career pathing, and succession planning • Comfortable operating in an ambiguous, transformation-in-progress environment • Experience owning team-based technical architecture and engineering practices, including repository management, CI/CD, code review standards, and testing/regression discipline • Experience managing a technically mixed organization of engineers, data engineers, and platform/systems administrators • Data-first orientation focused on data architecture and flow • Fluency in modern event-based, service-oriented architectures using server-side JavaScript/TypeScript/Node.js in a primarily serverless AWS environment • Deep experience with REST/GraphQL API architectures and authorization strategies including OAuth and JWT • Familiarity with SQL, Python, dbt/data modeling, pipeline orchestration, batch versus near-real-time ETLs and reverse ETLs, and medallion architectures • Experience with infrastructure as code platforms such as Terraform for DevOps and cloud infrastructure • Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without restrictions • Ability to work without current or future sponsorship to maintain US work authorization
