📋 Description

• Help patients navigate financial responsibilities for uninsured services or services where insurance is not accepted • Prepare estimated costs of services • Request deposits for half of estimated service costs • Discuss eligibility for Cleveland Clinic Financial Assistance Programs • Counsel patients and payment-responsible parties regarding payment responsibilities and options • Counsel patients regarding insurance benefits and recommend alternative payment sources and financial assistance • Explain financial responsibilities, payment options, and collection procedures • Contact insurance carriers or other sources and advocate for patients • Initiate collection of prepayments and follow up to maximize collection • Identify and resolve issues involving registration, financial clearance, insurance authorization, billing, explanations of benefits, provider-based billing, governmental requirements, HCAP/FAP policies, MyAccount, and collections • Update and correctly document information in the appropriate computer system

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED and three years of experience in a customer-facing role with in-person or phone contact OR Associate’s Degree and two years of experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and one year of experience • Candidates must reside in the Northeast Ohio area • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods • Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment • In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system • In some locations, ability to move up to 25 lbs. • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required • Must comply with the annual influenza prevention program, including vaccination or an approved exemption • Employment offers are followed by controlled-substance testing
