📋 Description

• Rework the core CRM data model for leads, contacts, opportunities, and custom objects • Design and implement migrations and rearchitecture projects without taking the product down • Build tools and endpoints exposing CRM data and actions to MCP-compatible agents • Enable agents to traverse, filter, and reason over customer CRM data • Ship AI-native CRM features including agentic enrichment, AI-powered data cleaning, and richer AI search • Keep high-traffic CRM paths fast, including lead finding, deal updates, pipeline scanning, and bulk actions • Work across teams and projects as organizational priorities shift • Use appropriate technologies and contribute to Close’s AI-native engineering workflow

🎯 Requirements

• Seasoned engineering experience • Python experience; familiarity with Go, Rust, or TypeScript is applicable • Experience designing systems others build on • Experience planning migrations and sequencing rearchitectures into independently shippable pieces • Knowledge of data models, schemas, relationships, normalization, query design, and type systems • Experience with search is a serious bonus, especially Elasticsearch, Lucene internals, query planning, relevance, and indexing at scale • Meaningful production experience shipping LLM-backed or agentic features to real users • Experience using AI tools in day-to-day development • Experience debugging incidents involving latency budgets • Experience owning systems with real customer impact or carrying an on-call pager • Builder-oriented experience delivering working software • Ability to work legally in the US; visa requirements must be explained • Ability to work remotely and travel internationally to week-long team offsites
