• Contribute to conceptualization, specifications, and creation of innovative content and new assessment products, systems, or services • Use databases and technology tools to construct, track, and edit assessment items • Coordinate schedules and communicate project details with project managers and functional groups such as Graphics and Publications • Develop assessment item types according to standards frameworks and requirements • Develop and maintain item, test, and project specifications • Create and refine multiple-choice, short-answer, constructed-response, evidence-based response, technology-enhanced items, modules, and performance tasks aligned to standards • Develop item-specific scoring guides, distractor rationales, and supplemental item information • Conduct training workshops in item writing and test development tasks • Train and provide feedback to item writers • Review colleagues' work and provide feedback • Coordinate presentation and quality of items, sets, and work products • Prepare materials for committee meetings and facilitate advisory committees • Create and analyze test blueprints • Interpret item statistics for item selection and construct tests according to blueprints and specifications • Consult with scoring chief readers during benchmarking • Assist with assessment guides, brochures, and sample question packets • Work with Psychometricians to develop items meeting content and psychometric parameters, including adaptive testing banks • Study trends in national and professional content standards and learning • Participate in personal and professional development • Perform related or unrelated tasks as assigned
• Bachelor's degree • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Education • Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in educational assessment • Proven experience demonstrating test development competencies • Experience in alternate assessment highly preferred • Special education experience preferred • Master's degree in Education preferred • In-depth knowledge in a specific discipline • Education/degree coupled with teaching experience must be in English/Language Arts • Communication competency • Technical expertise and proficient use of technology-based tools • Individual accountability • Scope-of-work management • Leadership • Ability to work independently • Project management and time management skills • Ability to train and coordinate internal and external team members, including freelancers, consultants, and item writing houses • Willingness to undertake limited travel (0–10%) and attend the All Staff Company Meeting
