📋 Description

• Preserve and improve the quality and validity of AP US History exam, curriculum, and professional development deliverables • Lead assessment development and scoring for AP US History • Author, revise, review, and manage formative and summative assessment content and scoring materials • Leverage generative AI to author and review assessment content and improve assessment processes • Develop AP US History assessment forms aligned with approved curricula and test specifications • Lead face-to-face, weekend, and virtual meetings with the AP US History Test Development Committee • Train and supervise Test Development Committee members and recruit educators for development opportunities • Lead annual AP Reading scoring events and produce publications for teachers and students • Monitor exam validity, security, reliability, fairness, quality, and reader reliability • Collaborate with psychometrics staff to establish fair, reliable, and valid cut scores • Refine the AP US History Course Framework and align learning outcomes with strategic priorities and disciplinary standards • Support new AP US History products, prototypes, market testing, and development models • Engage with educators to drive teacher satisfaction with AP US History and its exam • Support AP US History consultants and teachers with the AP Professional Learning team • Collaborate with the AP Higher Education team on college and university awareness, AP Reading recruitment, Faculty Colloquia, and Visiting and Virtual Fellows Programs

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s degree in US History or a directly related discipline required • Knowledge of current trends in US History • Doctorate in the discipline strongly preferred • At least 5 years of experience in standardized assessment development or related work • Experience with digital assessment and teaching preferred • Strong oral and written communication skills • Solid technical proficiency and customer-focused mindset • Excellent organizational and planning skills, including proofreading • Ability to implement processes and procedures, manage project plans and schedules, and maintain tracking documentation • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills • Ability to work effectively across all levels and engage in constructive feedback • Ability to travel 6–8 times per year, plus up to two additional weeks for the AP Reading • Must be eligible and authorized to work in the United States • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies and willingness to adopt AI-driven solutions and new digital tools • Learner’s mindset and commitment to growth • Drive for impact and excellence • Collaborative and empathetic approach
