📋 Description

• Lead a team of approximately eight engineers building and operating student score reporting systems • Set team vision and priorities, track goals, and provide coaching and feedback • Foster an inclusive, high-achieving culture • Build team structures and plan for evolving skills and capacity needs • Develop team members' strengths to deliver scalable solutions using cloud and AI-enabled technologies • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to clarify score reporting needs, constraints, and opportunities • Align priorities with product, data, and engineering leaders across interdependent systems • Communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences • Advance AI-enabled capabilities for score reporting, insights, and operational efficiency • Drive engineering excellence through design reviews, shared standards, and technical debate • Collaborate with architects, senior and lead engineers, and data leads to evaluate features, estimate effort, and plan delivery • Translate business problems into technical direction • Lead Agile and post-Agile delivery practices • Guide technical decisions and evaluate solution tradeoffs • Align architecture, cloud services, and delivery patterns with organizational goals • Translate roadmaps into actionable plans and prioritize epics and stories • Manage scope and reduce technical debt • Monitor application cost and performance and optimize efficiency and scalability • Embed security and compliance throughout design and delivery • Ensure delivery and operational readiness across the service lifecycle • Lead identification, triage, and resolution of production issues • Keep current with Generative AI software developments and share knowledge with the team

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering • Experience building and operating secure, data-intensive, cloud-based systems • Demonstrated success leading engineering teams delivering complex products, services, or platform capabilities at scale • Hands-on experience managing or owning web applications, ideally a user-facing portal • Working knowledge of authentication, access controls, web application firewalls, and hosting environments • Strong people-management experience, including coaching, performance management, and career development • Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute in fast-paced, evolving environments • Experience reviewing designs, guiding architectural decisions, and partnering with senior engineers • Experience with modern cloud architectures • Ability to influence engineering strategy and decision-making across teams and leadership levels • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, willingness to experiment with and adopt AI-driven solutions, and comfort learning new digital tools independently • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills • Learner's mindset and commitment to growth • Collaborative and empathetic approach • Authorization to work in the United States
