📋 Description

• Set and resource AD&D's vision while holding the department accountable for results • Sustain operational excellence across the SAT Suite of Assessments, AP, and ACCUPLACER • Ensure accessible, zero-error, on-time assessment delivery • Define strategic direction to accelerate enterprise-wide content production • Lead strategy for new assessments and item formats in partnership with program teams, Psychometrics, Technology, and Digital Product • Align senior stakeholders, including the CEO, President, and SVP Learning & Assessment, on strategy, progress, and trade-offs • Build and lead the Executive Director team managing 70+ assessment designers, content developers, analysts, and project managers • Set team vision and priorities, track progress, coach employees, and manage performance • Cultivate an inclusive, high-achieving culture • Serve on College Board's Learning & Assessment Leadership Team • Represent College Board's assessment perspective at industry conferences, in publications, and throughout the assessment community • Shape internal decisions about skills and constructs to assess and direct the team's work

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including experience operating at the senior executive level • Expertise in large-scale assessment design and development, psychometrics, and/or the future of work and assessments • Evidence-based perspective on the future of K-12 assessment, academic, durable, career-relevant, and non-cognitive skills, and AI's impact on assessment • Fluency in validity, fairness, accessibility, and reliability principles • Working facility with item response theory, classical test theory, structural equation modeling, information yield, discrimination, multidimensionality, and scaling • Track record leading assessment or content development organizations through significant transformation • Experience sustaining zero-error, high-volume, deadline-driven assessment operations at scale • Experience leading through intense test security or production pressure • Experience conceiving new assessment designs, item types, or measurement approaches and taking them to operational reality • Public-facing experience through publications, conference keynotes, or industry panels • Ability to build and lead a leadership team of senior managers, including hiring, developing, and holding them accountable • Demonstrated strategic, inclusive people leadership and performance management through evidence-based feedback and coaching • Executive presence and cross-functional influence at C-suite and senior-leadership level • Ability to travel up to 25% of the year • Passion for expanding educational and career opportunities and mission-driven work • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies and willingness to adopt AI-driven solutions • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills • Learner's mindset and commitment to growth • Drive for impact and excellence, data-informed decision-making, and continuous improvement • Collaborative and empathetic approach • Authorization to work in the United States
