📋 Description

• Prioritize, plan, and provide direct family-centered care to ambulatory patients throughout the continuum of care • Facilitate patient flow within the clinical practice • Partner with children and families to evaluate outcomes and monitor responses to treatment • Educate patients and families regarding all aspects of care, including telephone advice based on established protocols • Advocate for parents and families • Document plans of care, patient status, family adjustment, unexpected events or condition changes, medications, and vital signs • Delegate aspects of care to peers and ancillary personnel • Serve as a resource to staff within the area of expertise • Communicate comprehensive patient and family data with the healthcare team to provide continuity of care • Provide psychosocial support for patients, families, and peers • Assess and treat pain according to the Comfort Central principle and pain-management policy • Apply knowledge of age-related needs from neonates through adolescence • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in patient and family interactions • Support the organization’s mission, values, goals, and CCMC standards

🎯 Requirements

• ASN required upon hire • BSN preferred upon hire and required within 3 years of hire • Current State of Connecticut Registered Nurse licensure required and maintained thereafter • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR in adult, child & infant required upon hire and maintained thereafter • Specialty licensure/certification may be required, as specified by department • Ability to demonstrate all CCMC Core Organizational Competencies or potential to do so • Ability to demonstrate clinical competencies within the specialty area
