Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Support the instructional program through asynchronous web conferencing and synchronous instruction • Complete grading, create progress reports, and conduct parent conferences • Develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules with parents, students, and teachers • Score assessments and provide feedback on student work • Suggest instructional approaches and strategies and monitor assignment completion • Coach special projects and support students and parents with alternate strategies • Maintain detailed knowledge of assigned grades and general knowledge of the K-8 curriculum • Keep student records and data current, including cumulative files, attendance, and contact logs • Consult with team members and staff learning specialists to develop enrichment activities and program modifications • Suggest social activities and relevant field trips and manage regional field trips • Develop virtual methods of creating and maintaining a school community • Participate in state testing organization and administration • Participate in student recruiting sessions and marketing efforts requiring teacher representation • Review curriculum and devise alternate lesson approaches • Attend field trips and community activities • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Highly qualified and certified to teach Elementary (K-6) in Florida, appropriate to grade-level responsibilities • ESOL Certification or Endorsement required • Reading Certification or Endorsement required • Must currently hold a Professional-level Florida certificate • Strong technology skills, especially Microsoft operating systems and MS Office programs • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Highly organized and punctual • Customer-focused approach • High degree of flexibility • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment • Track record as a team player • Overnight travel required for state testing, information sessions, and school events • Ability to work remotely when necessary • Ability to work occasional evening hours as needed to support families • Must use a personal electronic device and email address for 2-step authentication
