Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Deliver asynchronous and synchronous instruction in whole-group, small-group, and individual settings • Complete grading, lesson preparation, and student and family communications within established timelines • Maintain knowledge of K-12 curriculum and detailed knowledge of assigned courses, grades, and subject areas • Review curriculum and use alternate instructional approaches to increase student understanding and engagement • Support students and Learning Coaches with learning strategies, assignments, projects, and course expectations • Support implementation of Individualized Education Programs, accommodations, and modifications • Communicate regularly with students and Learning Coaches through the Learning Management System, telephone, and approved tools • Maintain accurate and current student records and data, including attendance and communication records • Monitor student progress and collaborate with Engagement and Counseling Departments • Collaborate through professional learning communities to develop Personal Learning Plans, score assessments, review student work, provide feedback, and refine instructional strategies • Participate in professional learning and apply new knowledge to instructional practice • Build and maintain a strong virtual school community • Coordinate student social activities, field trips, and community events • Participate in state assessments, school events, recruitment sessions, outreach, and marketing activities • Work occasional evening hours and travel, including possible overnight travel • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Active Pennsylvania instructional certification appropriate for the assigned grade level and subject area • Pennsylvania residency • Strong oral and written communication skills • Strong organizational and time-management skills • Demonstrated student-centered approach, flexibility, agility, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively as a member of a team • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote, technology-driven environment • Ability to travel for state testing, school events, and outreach activities, including possible overnight travel • Ability to work occasional evening hours, as needed to support students and families • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, learning management systems, and related technology • Two-step authentication setup required upon hire to access school systems
