• Work unpaid claims in EMR systems timely and accurately • Follow up with payors on open balances to ensure prompt and accurate payment • Correct and resubmit claims in EMR systems and/or clearinghouses • Submit timely, valid, and well-documented adjustments with management approval • Research unpaid claims through payor phone calls, web portals, and written guidelines • Maintain clear, concise, and up-to-date account-status documentation • Communicate and document issues found during claim follow-up • Identify billing issues, including codes and modifiers, and communicate them to appropriate staff • Maintain daily productivity levels • Report daily key performance indicators through reporting tools • Assist with training and guiding team members • Assist with projects and perform other assigned duties • Self-report at the end of each business day • Support productivity verification using User Performance reporting in Waystar (OTP) and analysts’ spreadsheets
• Must have had at least 3 years accounts receivable experience in a physician office setting • General Knowledge of HCPCS, CPT-4 and ICD-10 coding and/or medical terminology • Familiar with multiple payer requirements, including Medicaid, Medicare, and/or commercial insurance follow up, and regulations for claims processing • Research and analysis of unpaid and denied claims including payor communication, resubmissions, and appeals • Must have a High School Diploma/GED • Required schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM • EST preferred • Productivity of 50 claims per day minimum • Understanding and adherence to state and federal regulations and system policies regarding compliance, HIPAA, integrity, and ethical billing practices
