• Drive a system-wide culture of patient safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement across CVAUSA ASCs and OBLs • Partner with location leadership and the CVAUSA Quality and Safety Department to build and standardize quality and safety programs • Identify and close quality and safety gaps and support survey readiness • Track and review adverse events, near misses, and patient complaints; ensure appropriate reporting, escalation, and resolution • Train center staff and leadership on quality and safety best practices, incident reporting, and peer reviews • Lead root cause analysis meetings and implement corrective action plans • Develop and publish recurring safety education resources and communications • Conduct compliance gap analyses related to CMS, state, and OSHA requirements; build and track action plans • Conduct random audits to evaluate documentation quality and identify trends requiring correction or training • Assess and develop infection control programs and monitor protocol compliance • Liaise with ASCs/OBLs regarding illness outbreaks and public health reporting • Ensure staff training on hazardous waste disposal, sharps safety, and related hazard controls • Ensure ongoing safety training and emergency preparedness drills • Partner with leadership to develop safety, accountability, and transparent reporting policies • Complete quarterly quality and safety benchmarking across the network • Monitor and support required quality studies at each center • Collaborate with ASC/OBL leadership and the Quality & Value Committee to set priorities and drive improvement initiatives
• Bachelor's degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare quality, patient safety, risk management, or regulatory compliance, preferably within an ASC, OBL, or outpatient surgical setting • Working knowledge of CMS Conditions for Coverage, state licensing requirements, OSHA standards, and accreditation body standards (e.g., AAAHC, AAAASF, The Joint Commission) • Experience conducting audits, gap analyses, and/or mock surveys • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train and influence staff across multiple sites • Preferred RN license or clinical background • CASC, CPHQ, or CIC certification preferred • Experience working across a multi-site healthcare organization or management services organization (MSO) • Familiarity with root cause analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) methodologies • Familiarity with quality improvement frameworks, including Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles, Lean, and/or Six Sigma • Experience measuring quality performance, particularly for procedural care, and using data to drive performance improvement • Ability to travel regularly; stated travel expectation of 25–40%
