• Work closely with practices and leaders to investigate and design strategic initiatives improving revenue cycle statistics, reporting capabilities, and overall performance • Implement, design, and support business and administrative analytics within revenue cycle functional areas • Develop reports with KPIs, metrics, data points, and formulas to support management objectives • Align processes with best practices to achieve optimal results and measurable, quantifiable improvements • Assist in preparing net revenue estimates • Analyze fee-for-service collection trends • Identify and implement process, technology, and training initiatives supporting accurate and timely billing and accounts receivable collection • Provide analytical support and develop operational tools to help detect current and future performance issues • Research healthcare revenue-cycle best practices and standards to support standardized goal setting and performance monitoring • Develop and manipulate large datasets and analyze data groups for process-improvement strategies • Audit electronic reports and paper claims and make corrections when necessary • Ensure accessibility and flow of performance information to relevant parties and address data-transmission issues • Analyze financial and revenue-cycle performance data to identify trends, patterns, and root causes
• 1+ years of relevant healthcare claims experience identifying insurance underpayments and revenue recovery • 1 year plus experience in health care finance, reimbursement, public or other accounting, auditing, budget, compliance, billing or insurance, with progressive responsibility in analysis and project management • 1–3 years of data or financial analysis experience • Familiarity with AWP pricing rules • Knowledge of pharmacy and major medical healthcare billing • Knowledge of 837/EDI processes, including payer-specific rules • Familiarity with commercial and government healthcare reimbursement methodologies • Strong knowledge of hospital billing and managed care • Advanced Excel skills • Strong technical, systems, reconciliation, accounting, auditing, and analytical skills • Working knowledge of healthcare billing and coding and experience working with clinicians • Prior project management experience • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work independently • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
