• Research and resolve high-complexity collection account balances according to DaVita policies and federal and state billing regulations • Provide ongoing training and guidance for Specialist Patient Account teammates • Review weekly and monthly key metrics to identify trends and areas of focus • Develop, document, and implement action plans with management • Identify payer trends and root causes of billing or claim exceptions • Resolve or escalate issues to minimize bad debt • Identify and interpret policies related to exceptions • Determine and apply appropriate business actions in ambiguous situations • Act as a resource for teammate questions and problematic payer issues • Train new teammates and conduct individual and group training • Recommend changes to collection teams, tools, policies, and procedures • Perform close reconciliation approvals for primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance claims • Review and approve adjustments and claim appeals • Conduct quality assurance reviews and provide feedback • Support department initiatives and manage multiple projects • Stay current with ESRD and Medicare Secondary Provider laws and changes • Maintain confidentiality of patient, teammate, and company information • Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training • Participate in DaVita village and neighborhood initiatives
• High School diploma or equivalent required • Two to four years’ experience in healthcare reimbursement and revenue cycle management preferred • Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint • Ability to accommodate PST hours • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability • Ability to manage and lead multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adjust priorities • Ability to interact positively with all levels of the company • Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA regulations and DaVita policies • Consistent, regular, and punctual attendance • Overtime may be required • Less than 5% travel required
