📋 Description

• Provide planning, including development of implementation and installation plans for IBM Mainframe projects • Develop detailed steps and requirements for implementing OS, software, and hardware upgrades or installations on IBM System z/OS mainframe platforms • Provide timelines and milestones to meet government-established project deadlines • Create and deliver detailed installation and upgrade documentation using government-specified software, processes, and formats • Perform IBM z/OS software installations and upgrades using SMP/e and related utilities • Create, define, and manage system and user catalogs • Diagnose and resolve IBM z/OS system abends and abnormal operating environment problems • Create, populate, secure, and troubleshoot IBM z/OS USS file systems and mount points • Manage the USS environment on IBM z/OS mainframe platforms • Create, update, and debug z/OS parameters using PARMLIB • Plan, create, and update documentation for IBM z/OS software and hardware installations and upgrades • Analyze and debug batch processing issues • Use IBM z/OS communications products including VTAM, TCP/IP, and FTP • Create, update, and debug JES2 parameters and statements • Use storage management tools and techniques to perform installation, upgrade, and debugging of IBM z/OS platform issues

🎯 Requirements

• Secret clearance • IAT-I Certification • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math and seven years' experience installing/maintaining an IBM z/OS, utilization of required software tools and utilities, implementation and testing of related software; or ten years' experience installing/maintaining an IBM z/OS, utilization of required software tools and utilities, implementation and testing of related software. • Experience with IBM System Modification Program/extended (SMP/e) • Experience with IBM system utilities, including IEBGENER, IEBCOPY, and IDCAMS • Experience creating, populating, updating, and configuring datasets and parameter libraries and members • Experience using SMP/e to receive and apply z/OS and related software, interpret SMP/e output messages, manage installation packages, and define required parameters • Experience creating, defining, managing, updating, merging, and debugging system and user catalogs • Experience diagnosing and resolving IBM z/OS system abends and abnormal operating environment problems using logs, traces, dumps, job output, and monitoring tools • Experience managing IBM z/OS USS file systems and mount points • Experience creating, updating, and debugging z/OS parameters/PARMLIB • Experience with IBM z/OS batch processing, dispatching priorities, security products, and software integration • Experience with VTAM, TCP/IP, and FTP • Experience creating, updating, and debugging JES2 parameters and statements • Knowledge of DFHSM, ADRDSSU, SMS, and virtual tape systems
