📋 Description

• Develop SAS programs for validating surveillance, clinical, or research study data • Verify required variables are present and extraneous variables are excluded from resulting datasets • Identify data discrepancies and inconsistencies in resulting datasets • Develop codebooks and data management plans • Run duplicate procedures and compare results to ensure validity against applicable standards • Conduct geospatial and molecular HIV analysis and interpret results using R • Collaborate with analysts to develop novel code supporting analyses • Support dissemination and reporting of data to internal and external partners • Work with federal partners to support funded jurisdictions or funded CBOs

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, statistics, or related field • 2 years of experience working with R or SAS • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple data sources to monitor and assess data quality, including accuracy and completeness • Strong, demonstrated experience with SAS • Familiarity with R coding • Clear written and verbal communication • Must be able to obtain a NAC clearance • Preferred: Experience with HIV surveillance or research data • Preferred: Prior experience with CDC, HHS, or another federal or state health agency • Preferred: Master’s degree in public health, statistics, or related field • Preferred: Experience creating and managing dashboards using Power BI • Preferred: 2 years of experience generating SAS-based reports using PROC REPORT, PROC TABULATE, and exporting reports to Microsoft Excel, PDF, and HTML • Preferred: Knowledge of HIV, molecular data, and public health surveillance systems • Preferred: Experience with large (>500,000 observations), document-based datasets • Preferred: Proficient SAS or R coding experience, including SAS MACROS, PROC SQL, and FORMATS • Preferred: Experience manipulating and cleaning data using SAS functions, formats/informats, and procedures • Preferred: Experience with behavioral or clinical surveillance data and/or primary or secondary research data
