📋 Description

• Counsel IonQ's product and research teams across the full product lifecycle • Provide legal guidance on strategic transactions and partnerships • Draft, negotiate, and execute strategic partnerships, licensing, joint development, and supply and manufacturing arrangements • Shape playbooks, processes, and infrastructure for a scalable product legal function • Collaborate with product, research, engineering, finance, privacy, compliance, trade, outside counsel, and other stakeholders • Translate complex legal concepts into actionable guidance for non-lawyers • Translate product, engineering, and business strategy into terms that sharpen legal advice and priorities • Report to the Head of Product Legal

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school • Active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar, or eligibility for in-house/registered counsel status in the state of employment • 8+ years of relevant experience at a leading law firm and/or in-house legal department • Substantial experience advising on strategic partnerships for the manufacturing, distribution, and sale of technology products, in the US and abroad • Proven track record of drafting, negotiating, and executing complex technology transactions with direct impact on business or product strategy • Versatility across product and transactional matters • Judgment to advise confidently amid ambiguity and willingness to work on novel legal questions • Ability to leverage existing AI tools and help build superior ones • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or granted asylum, due to export control laws and regulations
