• Expand membership and deepen We Dream in Black’s presence across North Carolina, including Charlotte, Durham, Raleigh, Greensboro, and Fayetteville • Manage ongoing outreach plans to recruit new members through canvassing, events, and worksites • Conduct phone follow-ups and coordinate member-led phone banking sessions • Identify potential leaders and implement leadership development activities with Lead Organizers • Coordinate chapter outreach and recruitment systems, monthly meetings, and membership activities • Conduct membership recruitment presentations and support member registration and dues payments • Build relationships with community institutions and partners • Support digital outreach, communications, outreach data, and event data using database systems • Track fieldwork, worker contacts, member interactions, recruitment, engagement, and leadership-development progress • Plan monthly We Dream in Black meetings and membership programming with North Carolina organizing staff • Coordinate membership participation in local and national gatherings and initiatives • Activate members in campaign activities and support local campaigns, worker engagement, and rapid-response mobilizations • Cultivate strategic partnerships supporting policy victories and a sustainable movement for Black women workers • Report to the NC Organizing Manager and collaborate with North Carolina staff and the broader We Dream in Black network • Travel throughout North Carolina and occasionally nationally
• 2–3 years of organizing experience, paid or volunteer • Passion for engaging communities • Ability to work some nights and weekends • Strong relational skills and ability to connect, engage, and inspire community members • Strong and effective communication skills • Intermediate computer skills, including PowerPoint and Google Suite • Demonstrated leadership experience • Hard-working and self-disciplined • Ability to work well with a team and motivate others to take action • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures • Ability to work well under pressure and manage time efficiently • Knowledge of issues affecting Black domestic workers nationally and locally • Reliable transportation for travel throughout North Carolina • Ability to undertake occasional national travel • Availability for evening and weekend work as needed • Resume, cover letter, and writing sample required for application • Must live in North Carolina
