• Lead the project engineering team in defining and reviewing technical requirements for Duck Creek applications, including security, integration, performance, quality, and operations • Serve as the primary point of contact and escalation point for engineering, customization, and customer issues • Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of software upgrades with minimal business disruption • Provide technical guidance on coding, testing, deployment, and best practices • Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder communications and expectations • Analyze release notes and code changes to assess upgrade impact on existing applications • Debug custom and base code and provide workarounds or solutions to implementation teams and customers • Use Duck Creek upgrade tools to generate differential analysis and low-impact upgrade paths • Identify automation opportunities and develop utilities for faster, more effective upgrades • Interact with customer counterparts to triage issues and present solutions • Review work, mentor team members, and share knowledge • Identify upgrade risks, communicate schedule impacts, and develop mitigation strategies • Collaborate with customers on remediation work before upgrades • Develop and execute deployment plans that minimize downtime and support smooth production transitions • Provide post-deployment support and troubleshooting • Analyze deployment outcomes and implement process improvements
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience in network administration, programming, or information systems • Minimum of 6 years’ professional experience in software development • Experience in customer-facing roles • Experience managing teams and direct-report performance • Deep understanding of the Duck Creek product suite and technical components • Demonstrated team leadership and employee performance management experience • Deep professional experience with C#, SQL, Visual Studio, Microsoft Foundation technologies, Windows Server 2003/2008 administration and configuration, JavaScript, XSLT, XML, HTML, CSS, and AJAX • Deep professional experience with .NET solutions, SQL, and relational database design • Experience with XML and XSL • Experience leveraging Generative AI and AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Copilot • Ability to evaluate, implement, and govern AI-driven automation while maintaining security, quality, and compliance standards • Experience or knowledge of P&C insurance software applications • Experience or knowledge of the software development life cycle for P&C insurance software • Experience with systems integration, including Policy, Billing, Claims, Reinsurance, and third-party systems • Effective verbal and written communication • Ability to work effectively in teams and build positive relationships • Ability to analyze complex situations, identify problems, and generate solutions • Willingness to accept responsibility and achieve meaningful outcomes • Ability to adapt to change, learn quickly, and embrace new technologies • Travel requirement of 0–25% • Legally authorized to work in the country of the job location
