• Support rating and pricing, valuation, healthcare economics, and financial forecasting • Apply mathematics, probability, statistics, and business principles to provide technical actuarial support • Work closely with actuaries on health program analysis • Support Network Management, Underwriting, Sales and Marketing, Finance, and Healthcare teams • Perform actuarial research, experience studies, statistical analyses, and calculations • Calculate premiums and reserves for new and existing insurance plans • Provide support to senior analysts or actuaries • Retrieve and validate data for rate filings and actuarial models • Build model enhancements and determine reasons for changes to calculated factors • Analyze impacts of product-line and segment changes • Communicate filing status to internal stakeholders and transmit rate filings to NCDOI and CMS • Retrieve and validate data for monthly reports and UCL and ALR calculations • Support valuation by executing the ALR model and verifying results • Research ALR assumption studies and UCL estimates • Distribute established reports and respond to inquiries • Investigate trends and anomalies • Execute control activities supporting Enterprise Risk Management • Provide analytic support for corporate and departmental projects • Participate in good standing in the Actuarial Development Program
• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree where required • 2+ years of relevant actuarial experience • Related experience may be considered • Completion of at least 3 exams toward eventual ASA designation • Additional relevant experience may substitute for minimum exam requirements • ASA or additional ASA exams may substitute for minimum experience requirements • Must be authorized to work in the United States
