• Execute the full lifecycle of procurement-facing agreements across an assigned portfolio • Support research teams in understanding scientific engagement scope and structuring compliant contracts • Manage scientific contracting engagements across early phase biology, chemistry, and scientific technology areas • Collaborate with Project Management, Scientific, Legal, and Business Operations teams • Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts in accordance with policies and risk mitigation strategies • Manage concurrent contract assignments and reprioritize across scientific teams as directed • Provide contracting guidance and escalate complex compliance or contractual issues • Engage with Project Management teams regarding upcoming third-party contracting needs, scope, deliverables, timelines, and prioritization • Engage third-party suppliers and identify and mitigate routine risks • Coordinate Legal and subject-matter-expert input • Support the procure-to-pay process, including purchase requisitions and invoice reconciliation • Use Lilly’s contract lifecycle management system for contract intake, drafting, tracking, and reporting
• Bachelor’s degree required; degree in biology or a related scientific discipline preferred • Scientific literacy and/or background in a relevant biological discipline • Ability to engage credibly with research scientists in exploratory research, translational science, and large molecule biology • 3+ years of contract management experience, including procurement-facing contracting in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Lilly will not sponsor work authorization or visas • Experience with project management, finance, procurement, and contract lifecycle management software preferred • Familiarity with software licensing agreements, including SaaS and data platform agreements, preferred • Fluency with AI tools preferred • Strong contract drafting, review, and analysis skills • Working knowledge of intellectual property, indemnification, limitation of liability, confidentiality, and payment terms • Ability to manage a high volume of concurrent assignments and meet strict deadlines • Commitment to proficiency with Lilly’s contract lifecycle management system and other designated business tools • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills • MS Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
