⢠Serve as the firm's subject matter expert for retirement plan documents ⢠Independently interpret plan provisions, ERISA, and Internal Revenue Code requirements and determine their application across the firm's book of business ⢠Design and implement plan structures ⢠Lead plan design discussions with sponsors and advisors ⢠Translate design decisions into document, system, and administrative requirements ⢠Lead firm-wide document initiatives, including regulatory amendments and pre-approved document restatement cycles ⢠Determine project scope, approach, and execution from initiation through completion ⢠Provide technical oversight, guidance, training, and final escalation support to Plan Consulting, Compliance, Processing/Onboarding, and Strategic Relationships teams ⢠Apply plan provisions and regulatory requirements across the firm's book of business ⢠Interpret and resolve complex, non-routine document issues and discrepancies among plan documents, system configurations, and plan operations ⢠Establish and maintain firm-wide document standards, templates, and drafting guidelines ⢠Approve exceptions to standard provisions ⢠Review and approve plan document work for accuracy, consistency, and compliance ⢠Serve as the final escalation point for complex document issues ⢠Design plan structures with plan sponsors and advisors and finalize recommended provisions ⢠Direct handoffs to Plan Consulting and Processing/Onboarding ⢠Monitor, interpret, and implement legislative and regulatory changes, including SECURE 2.0 and IRS restatement cycles ⢠Lead amendment and restatement projects from impact assessment through completion ⢠Develop and deliver technical training and guidance ⢠Maintain procedures and reference materials ⢠Evaluate and enhance plan document systems, workflows, and tools
⢠Bachelor's degree and eight (8) years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience ⢠Advanced knowledge of 401(k) and 403(b) plan design, document provisions, compliance, and fiduciary role-related topics ⢠Ability to independently interpret ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and IRS and DOL guidance ⢠Ability to establish company-wide documentation standards and plan operations ⢠Ability to exercise independent judgment and reach defensible conclusions in ambiguous and non-standard situations ⢠Ability to lead plan design consultations with new plan sponsors and their advisors ⢠Ability to translate design objectives into compliant plan document and operational requirements ⢠Ability to independently scope, plan, and drive firm-wide document projects across multiple departments and locations ⢠Ability to develop and deliver technical training and guidance to staff of varying experience levels ⢠Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve inconsistencies in plan documentation and operations ⢠Strong attention to detail and professional interpersonal skills ⢠QKA or QPA certification preferred ⢠Expert-level knowledge of pre-approved and individually designed plan documents preferred ⢠ASC Plan Document system and DGEM document generation platform experience preferred ⢠Ability to communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers ⢠Ability to remain stationary 75% of the time or greater ⢠Ability to move objects up to a maximum of 10 lbs ⢠Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable
