📋 Description

• Exercise independent discretion and judgment in claims handling involving complex liability issues, including coverage issues and minor injury claims • Conduct investigations, evaluate coverage and liability, and make recommendations • Set and maintain reserves • Obtain documents to establish claim value • Negotiate settlements or decline claims • Document files and submit final reports • Identify subrogation opportunities and initiate appropriate action • Negotiate with all parties or their representatives within designated authority • Complete required training • Train and mentor others • Handle claims primarily for Maryland, District of Columbia, or West Virginia, with possible claims in other jurisdictions

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required • Two years of claims or customer service experience required, preferably with casualty claims • Equivalent educational experience will be considered • Appropriate license(s) as required by state(s) of operation • Ability to handle claims for MD, DC, WV, and potentially other jurisdictions • Regular and predictable attendance • Ability to complete required training • Ability to perform frequent manual keying, data entry, inputting information, and computer use • Ability to occasionally lift/move 0–20 lbs and 20–50 lbs • Ability to drive occasionally • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
