📋 Description

• Handle the adjusting of the entire claim without the involvement of a Desk Adjuster • Collect and review loss-related facts and analyze insurance policy terms to make coverage decisions • Issue claim payments within the applicable authority level and make payment recommendations above that level • Contact insureds to schedule property inspections • Travel to affected properties and conduct timely inspections • Photograph, sketch, and scope all damages, including non-damaged areas • Compose claims correspondence and keep insureds informed during the investigation • Determine the method and extent of investigation for each claim • Assign outside experts or investigators when appropriate • Review and analyze investigative and claim materials • Interview insureds and witnesses and document investigative actions in claim files • Determine total claim values and request or disburse claim checks/payments • Respond to questions in a timely manner • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to resolve claims-related issues • Assist with catastrophe operations, including working extra hours during major events or deploying to affected areas • Contact Desk Adjusters regarding issues and expert needs • Submit reserve recommendations within 48 hours of inspection when assisting a Desk Adjuster • Email reports/estimates to the home office • Assist Desk Adjusters with pricing and technical issues • Perform additional duties as the candidate progresses

🎯 Requirements

• A four year college degree is preferred along with prior insurance experience with an insurance carrier or agency • Must be able to carry, set up, and safely climb a ladder with a Type IA rating (Extra Heavy Capacity, 300 LB/136 KG), weighing equal to or more than 50 pounds • Must be capable of safely climbing a ladder for roof inspections • Required to access and inspect all areas of a dwelling or structure, including roofs and entering tight spaces (attics, crawl spaces, etc.) • Ability to work extra hours during major catastrophe events or deploy to affected areas as required • Ability to utilize several software programs throughout the day • Ability to maintain compliance with quality standards and state regulations
