• Provide leadership and technical expertise within the engineering vertical • Build and lead one or more teams to deliver software while adhering to and contributing to engineering best practices • Manage, coach, and develop engineers across mobile and backend platforms • Clarify technical requirements, negotiate priorities, and manage projects to deliver on time by leading daily scrum activities • Partner with product and design teams to create an ambitious, achievable roadmap for executives and stakeholders • Drive reliable and predictable team execution using clear objectives, data, KPIs, transparency, and continuous improvement • Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering workflows, including development tooling, documentation, testing support, code review augmentation, and developer enablement • Provide KPIs, status, and metrics updates to executives and key stakeholders • Recruit, assess, and onboard diverse engineering talent • Align stakeholders across Fanatics around actionable roadmaps • Remain technically engaged in architecture discussions, operational reviews, development workflows, and engineering quality practices while empowering engineers on implementation details • Travel occasionally to Fanatics offices and other locations for conferences, events, meetings, and team-building activities • Build software for the Fanatics App, a digital sports platform combining free-to-play games, live events, ecommerce, and new product experiences
• 3+ years of experience managing one or more engineering teams • 4+ years of experience building highly scalable and fault tolerant systems • Knowledge of a broad range of design approaches and ability to deconstruct an architecture to be developed by different teams • Ability to scope projects with targeted dates to meet business needs • Ability to discern essential, triageable, or omittable features and negotiate with Product Management • Ability to communicate complex technical subjects to engineers, technical leaders, marketing and operations teams, and non-technical functional leaders • Familiarity with Agile software product delivery and SCRUM methodology • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills • Solid report writing skills and ability to gather, evaluate, analyze, and logically structure information • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, hyper-growth environment with evolving priorities and fast decisions • Team-first mentality and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done • Ability to work cross-functionally within an enterprise environment • Preferred: experience working in a start-up environment • Preferred: strong mobile software engineering background • Preferred: experience with Kotlin Multiplatform and/or Compose Multiplatform • Preferred: passion for sports cards, collectibles, or live commerce
