📋 Description

• Conduct virtual and on-site investigations at policyholders’ residences • Assess property damage, determine liability, evaluate loss extent, and negotiate fair settlements • Use claims handling software, a company car, and a laptop to determine damage and write estimates in a paperless environment • Evaluate and report potential subrogation opportunities • Report theft, fraud, or arson incidents to appropriate state and industry agencies • Perform duties independently with work directly impacting management outcomes • Represent the company in public interactions while maintaining professional standards • Engage with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other relevant parties • Negotiate with policyholders to settle claims using strong customer service skills • Promote safety and comply with company safety and ergonomic standards • Perform additional duties as assigned • Cover property damage claims across all of Western North Dakota

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required • Excellent customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment • Construction or insurance experience highly desirable and preferred • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook • Proficiency with smartphones and applications • Eagerness to learn insurance policies and property damage • Valid driver's license • Bondable • Final candidates subject to a Motor Vehicle Record background check • Willingness and ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops multiple times per day • Ability to work in small, confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces • Ability to achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training exams • Ability to perform required physical actions including bending, kneeling, pulling, pushing, sorting, carrying up to 50 lbs., climbing, reaching, standing, walking, seeing, speaking English, reading English, writing English, and key entering • Willingness to travel away from residence for CAT deployments, typically 23 days; expected commitment to 1–3 CAT deployments per year
