📋 Description

• Conduct virtual and on-site investigations at policyholders’ residences • Assess property damage, determine liability, evaluate loss extent, and negotiate fair settlements • Use claims handling software, a company car, and laptop to determine damage and write estimates in a paperless environment • Evaluate and report potential subrogation opportunities • Report theft, fraud, or arson incidents to appropriate state and industry agencies • Work independently with duties directly impacting management outcomes • Represent the company professionally in public interactions • Engage with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other stakeholders • Negotiate with policyholders to settle claims • Promote safety and comply with company safety and ergonomic standards • Travel away from residence for CAT deployments, usually for 23 days • Perform additional duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required • Excellent customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment • Construction or insurance experience is highly desirable and preferred • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Computer literate: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook • Proficiency with smartphones and applications • Eagerness to learn insurance policies and property damage • Valid driver's license and bondable • Must reside in the Western Massachusetts hiring territory • Willingness to participate in 1–3 CAT deployments annually • Ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops multiple times per day • Ability to work in small, confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces • Ability to achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training exams • Ability to carry up to 50 lbs. • Ability to speak, read, write, and key enter in English • Previous field experience handling property damage claims is strongly preferred, but the employer is willing to train the right candidate
