📋 Description

• Investigate claims and determine liability • Confirm coverage and establish damages • Report claim status and negotiate settlements within prescribed payment authority • Adjust all types of claims • Inspect damaged property and vehicles and determine claim-related damage • Estimate repair or replacement costs for damaged or stolen property and vehicles • Determine and report subrogation potential • Initiate sale of salvage vehicles, personal property, and miscellaneous salvage items • Report theft, fraud, and arson losses to state and industry agencies as required • Travel to and from policyholder homes throughout the Binghamton, NY territory • Communicate with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, repair facilities, contractors, police and fire departments, investigators, attorneys, expert witnesses, medical professionals, and other parties • Participate in CAT deployments away from residence, usually for 23 days • Promote safety and comply with company safety and ergonomic standards • Represent the Company professionally and perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required • Bachelor’s degree preferred • Outside insurance education (CPCU, GCA) preferred • Successful demonstration/completion of the Senior Claims Representative prerequisites, proficiencies, and exams, as required based on unit assignment • External candidates should have a minimum of one year of prior claims or two years of related industry experience • Maintain an active adjusters license in states where required • Communication • Personal Computer Literate • Valid driver's license • Bondable • Must reside in the Binghamton, NY hiring territory • Required to participate in 1-3 CAT deployments annually • Ability to perform physical activities including carrying up to 50 lbs., bending, pulling, sorting, pushing, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, kneeling, key entering, reading, speaking, seeing, and writing in English • Ability to work in field environments with uncontrolled outdoor conditions, excessive noise, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, dangerous areas, and respiratory or skin irritants
