📋 Description

• Oversee a portfolio of projects funded by the U.S. Government and other donors in a specific country/region • Serve as the primary representative for the assigned portfolio • Collaborate with HPG leadership, global project leadership, Global Operations and Services, Regional Hubs, and enterprise services staff • Directly supervise Associate Directors, Project Managers, and/or Project Directors/Chiefs of Party • Coordinate country-level implementation across projects and streamline processes and decision-making • Ensure projects remain within budget and in sound fiscal health • Maintain collaboration with donors, partners, and local stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle • Provide leadership, compliance oversight, and quality assurance for the assigned portfolio • Coordinate matrixed management, capacity building, support, and oversight of staff • Provide management backstopping from project startup through closeout • Lead work plan and budget development, country staff planning, project monitoring, deliverables development, and closeout • Serve as a point of contact for partners, subcontractors, vendors, collaborators, stakeholders, and donors • Contribute to business development to maintain or grow the portfolio • Manage resource conflicts and escalate issues to relevant leadership and enterprise services teams • Foster innovation, drive adoption of leading practices, and provide project management and/or subject matter expertise • Establish and maintain standards across projects in compliance with organizational and client requirements • Conduct routine reviews of project status, actions, decisions, risks, issues, and deliverables • Provide metrics and analytics to support executive decision-making • Support performance management and professional development of direct reports • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Communication and Social Marketing, Economic Development, Education, Health, Nutrition, Research, Technology and Youth, or a related field • Typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience with project management principles and practices • 8+ years of department-level leadership, strong business acumen, and/or line management experience • Experience managing United States Government-funded assistance and acquisition projects • Focus on HIV, global health security, TB, maternal newborn child health, and/or nutrition projects strongly preferred • Proficiency with rules, regulations, and policies associated with international development and non-governmental organizations • Demonstrated sector-specific or multi-sector project management and implementation experience • Demonstrated strategic planning, staff development, and capacity-building experience • Demonstrated experience leading and managing complex, strategic projects with national/international scope • English language fluency required • Fluency in a second language such as Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, or Arabic preferred • Experience operating in challenging environments • Project Management certification preferred • Ability to travel up to 25% • Ability to work in a typical office environment, spend long hours at a computer, sit and stand for extended periods, and lift/move up to 5 lbs. • Proficiency with personal computer/laptop, Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Zoom/Teams, cell phone/mobile technology, and standard office equipment • Successful completion of reference, criminal record, terrorism finance, and related screening checks
