📋 Description

• Understand technical project requirements for existing and potential clients • Assess whether client opportunities are a good fit • Develop solution paths for client opportunities • Prepare estimates for required work • Identify project risks and mitigation strategies • Write technical content for proposals • Present Fidus’ resource capabilities and work approach • Discuss, promote, defend, and refine work approaches and estimates • Evaluate and understand solutions and partition programs into logical segments • Undertake project work as required • Identify and develop new Fidus products • Identify new areas of investment and research and development • Collaborate across FPGA/DSP, hardware, embedded software, verification, SI/PI, PCB layout, and mechanical/thermal design teams • Work on projects across communications, aerospace and defence, life sciences and medical devices, space and satellite, industrial automation, automotive, and semiconductor engagements

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent • Ideally at least seven (7) years of design background in a Signal Processing or Algorithms Designer role • System-level design experience and interest, including identifying architectural approaches and tradeoffs • Expert-level knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink-based system modeling • Experience designing and analyzing digital filters and multirate signal chains, including FIR/IIR synthesis, decimation and interpolation, DUC/DDC, and sample rate conversion • Fluency in fixed-point implementation tradeoffs, including quantization, bit growth, and resulting precision and resource impacts • Experience mapping algorithms onto FPGA fabric, DSP slices, adaptive SoC, or GPU targets against throughput, latency, and resource targets • In-lab experience verifying signal-processing performance • Knowledge of FPGAs • Exposure to communications, radar, or imaging algorithm domains is an asset • Control systems experience is an asset • Ability to undertake designs with ITAR restrictions or classified information • Concise communication and writing skills • Excellent listening, understanding, and extrapolation skills • Professional and personable • Enjoys travel, anticipated to be up to 6 weeks per year, typically within North America • Proven experience giving presentations to small-to-medium-sized groups • Position based in the United States • Must be a U.S. person as defined under 22 CFR 120.62 or eligible for an export license • Required to complete background checks
