📋 Description

• Design, build, and automate the Software Development Lifecycle and infrastructure powering Fieldwire • Own the reliability and performance of production systems, including incident response, root-cause analysis, and preventative measures • Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability systems • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex application performance, scalability, and security issues • Set technical direction and make architectural decisions for platform infrastructure with engineering leadership • Collaborate with and influence engineering teams to build a scalable platform • Mentor engineers on infrastructure best practices, operational excellence, and secure system design • Drive continuous improvement of tooling, processes, and standards • Participate in and help lead an on-call rotation, owning change and incident management processes • Lead IaC projects and review infrastructure designs • Design, develop, and support tools and environments for internal teams • Operate and evolve production systems, diagnose and resolve live incidents • Support and advise on internal development tools and workflows

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience • At least 5-7 years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or SRE, including direct ownership of production systems • Expertise in at least one programming language such as Golang, Java, Python, Ruby, or Rust • Proven experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure and associated services relating to CI/CD at scale • Deep experience with Docker and containerization in production environments • Substantial experience participating in and leading an on-call rotation, responding to and resolving production incidents • Experience developing, refining, and driving adoption of processes around change and incident management • Strong command of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), such as AWS CDK or Terraform, including designing reusable and secure IaC patterns • Demonstrated ability to mentor other engineers and influence technical decisions across teams • Familiarity with Rust and its ecosystem • Experience designing and operating CI/CD systems integrated across multiple accounts and regions • Experience with package management systems and strategy • A track record of leading cross-team infrastructure or reliability initiatives • Passion for solving unique and challenging problems
