📋 Description

• Build the operational platform covering site acquisition, infrastructure design, permitting, construction execution, deployment tracking, and launch readiness • Establish technical foundations for scaling Zipline from tens of sites to hundreds or thousands • Replace fragmented manual workflows with a unified, auditable, and automated operational system • Own critical product domains and their long-term technical health and strategic direction • Reduce manual coordination, shorten site-launch timelines, improve launch-date predictability, and provide visibility into execution, dependencies, and risk • Define APIs, data models, service boundaries, and architectural patterns • Build durable workflows supporting government and vendor interactions, physical assets, documents, permits, approvals, dependencies, state transitions, and exception handling • Create integrations across ERP, GIS, document management, permitting, construction and project management, asset management, and internal operational systems • Partner with users to create intuitive planning and execution tools, prototype workflows, validate them in real operating environments, and drive adoption • Build and operate business-critical services with health metrics, SLOs, observability, runbooks, and recovery mechanisms • Participate in on-call, lead incident response, and improve systems through postmortems • Ship production code, review critical changes, troubleshoot complex system behavior, and follow capabilities from discovery through operation • Drive alignment across technical and operational stakeholders • Mentor peers and strengthen practices in system design, automated testing, CI/CD, operational reliability, and pragmatic delivery

🎯 Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience developing and maintaining full-stack production systems at scale, or demonstrated equivalent technical mastery • Ability to understand user needs, identify root causes, and design pragmatic solutions balancing business value, usability, technical simplicity, and maintainability • Ability to break down ambiguous operational problems and deliver software improving real-world processes • Strong fundamentals in maintainable system design, data modeling, robust APIs, frontend applications, backend services, distributed systems, and infrastructure • Experience modeling long-running workflows, external dependencies, physical assets, and complex state transitions with auditability, observability, and failure recovery • Experience building reliable integrations between internal services and external or enterprise systems • Comfort learning and working across Python, Go, PostgreSQL, React, Kafka, gRPC, AWS, Grafana, and Honeycomb • Thoughtful use of AI throughout design, implementation, testing, debugging, and code review • Ability to define service-health metrics and reliability goals, create runbooks, participate in on-call rotations, and drive improvements through incident reviews • Experience shipping high-impact capabilities with quantifiable results • Clear communication, decisive prioritization, and cross-functional influence without formal authority • Ability to balance speed with correctness and understand operational consequences in safety-critical operations
