📋 Description

• Define and lead execution of the global oncology Therapeutic Area strategy • Translate oncology science, regulatory trends, and market dynamics into scalable medical service offerings and execution roadmaps • Provide TA-specific insights, analysis, and recommendations for enterprise investment, operating model, and growth decisions • Serve as a senior scientific partner to clients and participate in senior client interactions and governance forums • Engage executive stakeholders across medical, safety, data management, regulatory, operations, project management, and commercial functions • Lead or participate in scientific governance forums and provide medical oversight for complex or high-risk oncology activities • Serve as final escalation point for complex medical, scientific, ethical, and regulatory decisions • Ensure scientific quality, compliance, integrity, patient safety, and data integrity • Lead and mentor senior TA medical leaders, including leadership development, succession planning, and capability continuity • Coach and advise Regional Heads to align regional execution with global strategy and drive consistent scientific quality • Support enterprise talent, culture, and organizational effectiveness initiatives • Partner cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Commercial, Strategy, and Data teams • Drive innovation in precision medicine, immuno-oncology, real-world evidence, digital health, and Advanced Therapeutics • Represent Fortrea externally through industry engagement, publications, presentations, and panel participation • Oversee assigned programs, ensure quality and compliance, and identify and escalate risks • Support service development, technical positioning, proposals, bid defenses, and client solution development • Provide clinical and scientific input to due diligence activities • Own delivery excellence and scientific quality across assigned TA programs and clients • Travel up to 2–3 trips per month, including domestic and/or international travel • Travel occasionally to client and site locations • Perform other duties as needed or assigned

🎯 Requirements

• MD / DO required • Board certification or specialty training in oncology / hematology • Deep therapeutic area expertise in oncology / hematology, drug development, and medical and scientific services • Experience with global medical portfolio governance and delivery • Knowledge of applicable regulatory and compliance frameworks • Typically, 10+ years of progressive experience in Oncology/Hematology within pharmaceutical, biotech, CRO, and/or related environments • Senior leadership experience in Medical and Scientific Services and/or Clinical Development roles within regulated drug development environments • Accountability for strategy execution, medical governance, and high-quality delivery • Experience engaging senior clients and external stakeholders • Experience contributing to business growth through solution shaping, proposals and bid defenses, and/or program- or portfolio-level development activities • Ability to lead in global, matrixed organizations across regions and multi-program portfolios • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills • Deep knowledge of integrated global drug development, quality, compliance, and risk-based decision-making frameworks • Executive-level judgment and decision-making in complex, ambiguous environments • Ability to lead and develop senior medical/scientific leaders and shape inclusive, high-performing teams • Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills with executive-level influence • Preferred: experience leading within a CRO and/or outsourced medical services model • Preferred: experience building and scaling global Therapeutic Area capabilities, operating models, and governance practices • Preferred: experience leading complex, matrixed, geographically distributed medical/scientific organizations • Preferred: scientific thought leadership through publications, presentations, and/or industry engagement • Regular and consistent attendance • Ability to access and use in-house and off-the-shelf computer software • Ability to lift and carry objects, including luggage and laptop computer, up to 15–20 lbs
