📋 Description

• Maintain a deep understanding of the end-to-end payment transaction lifecycle, including system architecture, execution, reconciliation, and error handling. • Oversee accounting for the end-to-end lifecycle of money movements, including payment origination, reconciliation, and reporting. • Manage the payments point-of-sale (POS) terminal revenue process and support billing and inventory accounting for POS terminals. • Reconcile all money movements to confirm activity happened as expected. • Own month-end and quarter-end close for payments and platform services revenue, including journal entries, accruals, flux analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations. • Identify, triage, and assist with solutioning payment-related incidents with cross-functional and external partners. • Detect and prevent payment errors and losses. • Work closely with backend systems to ensure accurate and timely payment processing and reporting. • Develop and maintain documentation for payment processes and procedures. • Collaborate with risk, underwriting, sales, operations, and backend systems teams to resolve variances and drive process improvement. • Support the Operational Leadership and executive team on key financial decisions. • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team. • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture. • Set performance goals and evaluate team progress, providing feedback and guidance. • Manage billing and revenue recognition for Platform Services, including insurance, marketing, and platform services. • Perform accounting and reconciliation for the Merchant Capital Advance. • Assist external auditors during interim and annual audits with documentation, explanations, and revenue recognition and financial reporting support. • Promote company core values and a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and performance.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification is a plus. • Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including direct experience with payment processing or transactional revenue; public accounting (Big 4 preferred) background a plus. • Minimum of 3 years of people-management experience with a track record of hiring, developing, and leading high-caliber teams. • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; NetSuite, Zuora experience is a plus. • Strong technical background in U.S. GAAP, with demonstrated depth in revenue recognition under ASC 606, including multiple-element arrangements and gross vs. net presentation. • Working knowledge of internal controls over financial reporting, including SOX-style control design, documentation, and testing support. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate with leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners. • Execution-oriented, with strong adherence to deadlines and the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. • Capacity to think ahead, set clear goals, and develop long-term plans that support organizational objectives. • Dedicated to developing team members through mentoring and constructive feedback, and to fostering a collaborative, inclusive team environment. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
