📋 Description

• Plan and direct the mechanical field commissioning team on assigned data center and building commissioning programs • Lead hands-on mechanical scope for installation verification, equipment startups, functional performance testing, and integrated systems testing • Plan, sequence, and assign mechanical field commissioning scope across assigned CxAs • Direct and mentor Mechanical Commissioning Authorities and review their checklists, startup records, and test forms • Lead L1 factory witness testing and disposition findings • Lead L2 mechanical installation verification and pre-startup acceptance • Direct L3 mechanical equipment startup, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, hydronic systems, CRAH/CRAC units, and controls point verification • Own L4 functional performance testing, including sequence verification, setpoint validation, alarm testing, and fail-mode response • Lead L5 Integrated Systems Testing for mechanical scope and confirm cross-system responses • Review and approve commissioning documentation and ensure same-day transfer to the program documentation platform • Maintain commissioning status and report progress, deficiencies, and schedule risks to the Commissioning Program Manager • Own disposition of mechanical deficiencies and non-conformances and track items to closure • Lead assembly of L6 turnover documentation and support project closeout • Serve as day-to-day mechanical commissioning contact for the GC, subcontractors, OEM technicians, and owner’s commissioning representative • Lead coordination meetings and coordinate AHJ inspections and owner witness testing • Enforce site safety requirements, direct and verify LOTO procedures, and stop unsafe work • Plan daily field activities, maintain daily field logs, submit Issues Log entries within 24 hours, and support turnover to operations • Provide technical direction, supervise the onsite project team, exercise field judgment, and mentor junior commissioning team members

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience • At least 3 years leading or directing mechanical field commissioning teams • Relevant experience in critical infrastructure, power generation, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, healthcare, industrial manufacturing, or comparable industries • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, or relevant technical degree/vocational or trade certification or equivalent hands-on experience may substitute for formal education requirements • Driver's License required • NFPA 70E Qualified Electrical Worker required or ability to complete during onboarding • OSHA 30 (Construction) minimum required or ability to complete during onboarding • Working knowledge of chilled water and condenser water systems, hydronic piping, pumps, valves, and heat exchangers • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, equipment submittals, and sequences of operation • Knowledge of CRAH, CRAC, in-row cooling, BMS controls, and mechanical alarm structures • ACG Commissioning Authority (CxA), BCxP, or equivalent commissioning credential preferred • CxT (ACG) or BCxP preferred • Journeyman Electrician license preferred • Manufacturer startup training preferred • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, temperature extremes, elevated noise, limited lighting, and energized electrical environments with full NFPA 70E PPE • Ability to work extended hours, nights, and weekends during critical testing milestones and owner acceptance events • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs • Climb ladders and stairs up to 12 floors • Valid driver's license
