📋 Description

• Serve as subject matter expert for HIPAA Privacy and Security regulations and state/local privacy laws, including OCR and NIST guidance and controls • Investigate and report on privacy-related incidents • Conduct risk assessments to determine incident impact • Drive compliance with federal and state reporting requirements • Conduct monitoring assessments for staff compliance with privacy and security policies and procedures • Promote privacy awareness and a culture of compliance among staff • Author and maintain HIPAA compliance documentation, including privacy policies, health information management procedures, Incident Response Plans, Privacy Impact Assessments, and related controls • Provide 24/7 availability for privacy and security emergency incidents affecting company and client operations • Assist clients with privacy-rights requests, including access and amendment requests and privacy complaints • Work with the client Contracting Officer to support contract initiatives and deliverables • Support Corporate privacy initiatives, documentation, and training • Perform additional duties as needed for Gainwell or client account needs

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in healthcare privacy activities • Experience overseeing establishment, implementation, and adherence to corporate policies on privacy, confidentiality, and release of information • Experience developing, conducting, and reporting privacy risk • Experience in the healthcare payer / insurance industry preferred • Bachelor’s / undergraduate degree or equivalent diploma, or combination of education, certification, and relevant experience • Possess and maintain privacy certification from HCCA, IAPP, AHIMA, or equivalent • CIPP/US preferred • Experience in a healthcare payer setting or state or federal agency desired • Must be able to work EST or CST • Quarterly travel required
