📋 Description

• Deliver new features and improve reliability of core services, including customer intake, application screening, and information dissemination paths • Identify major system bottlenecks and business-logic flaws and proactively address them • Own core product problems, develop solutions, and prove their impact through data at scale • Work across the stack without relying on another engineer or team to complete tasks • Lead a team of developers in engineering software for complex user problems • Communicate technical decisions and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders • Work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where ideas are openly discussed and challenged

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of related experience • Expert-level proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, or similar) • Proficiency in the majority of language constructs and ability to apply them to complex problems • Proven ability to design and implement distributed systems, including storage, caching, and application layers • Understanding of distributed-system failure modes • Verifiable experience with microservice architectures, especially high-throughput and low-latency systems • Portfolio demonstrating system transformations, such as strangler patterns for evolving monoliths to microservices • Experience with complex, phased systems migrations, including dark reads, dark writes, light reads, and light writes • Expert-level proficiency in cloud engineering paradigms, especially high-scale asynchronous systems and secure service integration patterns • Deep understanding of design patterns, reliability, and scaling principles • Strong architectural and system design capabilities • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences • Experience mentoring engineers, leading technical teams, or serving as a tech lead • Ability to influence technical direction and advocate for sound engineering practices • Track record of learning and adapting to new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies • Demonstrated use of AI and automation tools to enhance productivity and engineering outcomes • Comfort with ambiguity and willingness to enter new problem domains • No certification required • US citizenship is not required
