📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based, cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform • Build services supporting image capture, ingestion, processing, storage, retrieval, and distribution workflows • Create and maintain versioned, documented RESTful APIs with backward compatibility • Implement AI-enabled capabilities • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud application issues and defects through root-cause analysis and preventative fixes • Ensure security and compliance through secure coding, IAM/authorization controls, encryption, auditing, and policy-aligned data handling • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code with DevOps • Implement observability practices including logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and runbooks • Collaborate with DevOps, QA, Product Management, and security stakeholders • Participate in architecture/design reviews, code reviews, technical documentation, and shared standards

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in technology or software development preferred • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited College/University • Alternative path: candidates without a relevant four-year degree require an additional four years of relevant work experience • Strong professional experience developing backend services and APIs in Java • Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), using serverless and/or container-based approaches • Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, including authentication/authorization patterns and service integration • Experience integrating AI capabilities into applications and familiarity with basic evaluation/monitoring concepts • Knowledge of secure engineering practices, including least privilege, service accounts, secrets management, encryption in transit/at rest, and audit logging • Familiarity with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and Git-based development workflows • Strong troubleshooting skills for cloud applications, including defect triage, performance tuning, production support, and observability tools • Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering, QA, DevOps, product, and security stakeholders • Exposure to Agile methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices preferred • Familiarity with change/configuration management tools such as VersionOne or ServiceNow and/or ALM practices preferred • Hands-on exposure to container or serverless concepts such as Docker, Kubernetes fundamentals, or managed/serverless deployments preferred • Must obtain and maintain a Public Trust • Must provide onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility • U.S. residency requirement: must have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territories for the required recent period under USPS security-clearance rules
