📋 Description

• Lead and supervise GE Vernova field teams and subcontractors across GIS installation, maintenance, repair, and retrofit projects from 69 kV to 800 kV • Coordinate manpower, tools, equipment, and site resources • Serve as GE Vernova’s primary representative and customer interface on site • Lead daily toolbox talks, safety briefings, and Job Safety Analyses (JSA/AHA) • Manage site interfaces with clients, contractors, commissioning teams, and project managers • Monitor installation progress and produce daily, weekly, and final site reports • Support commissioning, high-voltage testing, punch list closure, and formal client handover • Review, adapt, and draft engineering documents, drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnection drawings, terminal diagrams, mounting details, and BOMs • Convert European-standard mechanical and breaker-control drawings into North American-compliant packages • Identify technical gaps and recommend compliant engineering solutions • Write and adapt Method Statements for installation, maintenance, repair, and high-voltage testing • Prepare engineering documentation for review and stamping by a licensed PE/P.Eng. where required • Ensure engineering changes are documented, traceable, and compliant • Enforce EHS, OSHA, NFPA 70E, and LOTO compliance • Manage site quality inspections, audits, and hold points • Verify personnel training, certifications, and PPE compliance • Exercise Stop Work Authority when unsafe conditions are identified • Champion GE Vernova’s Zero Harm safety culture • Prepare technical specifications and drawing packages for North American sourcing and procurement • Define and validate component substitutions • Support material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and vendor clarifications • Coordinate with suppliers on fit, function, certification, and compliance • Mentor junior field engineers, supervisors, and technicians and provide customer training

🎯 Requirements

• Degree, diploma, or technical training in Electrical, Electromechanical, or equivalent Engineering discipline • Proven hands-on expertise in GIS substation installation, assembly, maintenance, repair, and retrofit (69 kV–800 kV) • Significant field experience in HV GIS installation, construction supervision, and commissioning • Ability to read, interpret, mark up, and revise mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, control drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation procedures • Working knowledge of Local Control Cubicles (LCC) and secondary/control systems • Ability to convert engineering documentation from European to North American standards • Knowledge of high-voltage substation breaker control philosophy and mechanical support design • Experience with procurement documentation, including BOMs, technical specifications, and approved vendor lists • Strong understanding of quality, testing, and turnover documentation requirements • Deep knowledge of OSHA (29 CFR 1910 / 1926), NFPA 70E, and LOTO requirements • Experience conducting and validating JSA/AHA prior to work execution • Familiarity with U.S. and Canadian regulatory frameworks for high-voltage field work • Demonstrated field leadership and site team coordination on complex, high-voltage projects • Strong troubleshooting capability in electrical and mechanical environments • Ability to work independently at remote project sites under challenging conditions • PE/P.Eng. preferred; candidates with qualifications compatible with licensed supervision are encouraged to apply • Fluent English required; French is a strong asset • Must be legally authorized to work and travel in the US, Canada, and EU • Extensive travel expected
