📋 Description

• Build and maintain components of capacity expansion models, production cost and dispatch models, and scenario and sensitivity analysis frameworks • Translate business and domain inputs into structured, testable model logic • Develop and maintain data pipelines for internal and external datasets • Clean, transform, and validate large datasets for modeling use • Support data governance practices and standardized modeling inputs • Develop analytical tools in Python, R, Julia, or similar languages to modernize spreadsheet-based workflows • Implement automation for recurring forecasting processes • Contribute reusable code, libraries, and analytics modules that improve scalability and consistency • Apply AI tools to extract and process data from structured and unstructured sources • Use AI-enabled approaches to summarize market reports and datasets and enhance modeling inputs • Support experimentation with emerging AI methods across forecasting workflows • Execute forecasting runs and calibrate, validate, and interpret model outputs • Identify and resolve model, data, and workflow issues • Improve forecasting model performance, scalability, and usability • Partner with domain experts to understand assumptions, market logic, and forecasting requirements • Analyze market trends and model outputs • Prepare clear insights and decision-support materials for internal stakeholders

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data science, economics, or a related field from an accredited university or college • 3–5 years of experience in energy analytics, forecasting, power markets, advanced analytics, data science, or a related technical field with strong interest in energy • Strong proficiency with modern analytical tools and programming languages such as Python, R, Julia, or similar • Experience working with large datasets and analytical workflows • Demonstrated experience applying AI, advanced analytics, data science, or quantitative methods in market analysis, forecasting, or decision support • Experience with energy system models, including capacity expansion, production cost, dispatch, power system optimization, or related models • Experience with data tools such as SQL, cloud platforms, APIs, Power BI, Python, or similar tools • Familiarity with power markets, generation technologies, and energy policy • Exposure to AI, machine learning, or generative AI tools in analytics workflows • Experience transitioning analytical workflows from Excel into scalable modeling environments • Experience building or modernizing analytics capabilities in an enterprise environment • Strong curiosity, continuous learning mindset, attention to detail, and ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects with urgency • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to distill complex issues into clear, simple messages • Advanced degree such as an MBA, master’s degree, or PhD in a relevant field is desired • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
