📋 Description

• Build queue-driven AWS pipelines and bidirectional CRM integrations for tens of millions of records • Design systems for idempotent consumers, redelivery, backpressure, replay, bounded memory and database load, throttled writes, and connection budgeting • Implement correct incremental synchronization using row hashing, parallel batches, reconciliation, delete handling, and CRM rate-limit management • Migrate schools to new infrastructure by proving parity, executing cutovers with fallback paths, and delivering infrastructure as code with deployment, recovery, replay, and monitoring • Instrument synchronization processes with Sentry and New Relic to detect failures early • Design versioned, documented partner API endpoints and manage beta-to-general-availability releases • Establish and improve AI-agent engineering practices, including context files, reviewed skills, checks, evaluations, and guardrails around donor data • Own major pipeline and integration components at IC4, or own end-to-end architecture and mentor engineers at IC5 • Collaborate with Product, Partner Success, Partner Operations, Data Science, CRM vendors, and connector partners • Work in one-week sprints and ship to production multiple times per day

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years building and running production backend systems • Experience building and operating a distributed ETL or sync pipeline that moved tens of millions of records • Ability to explain handling of redelivery, backpressure, and replay • Experience building against third-party APIs, including authentication, token expiry during long pagination, rate limits, retries, and upsert semantics • Experience with external IDs, timezone-safe bulk writes, and safe schema changes to busy core tables • Clear written communication; ability to write design documents and pull request descriptions for a distributed team • Strongly preferred: experience with AWS or an equivalent cloud, infrastructure as code, deployment, monitoring, and on-call operations • Bonus: experience with fundraising or nonprofit CRMs, including Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT/SKY API, Salesforce, Ascend, Affinaquest, Ellucian, Veracross, or Slate • Bonus: experience with Ruby on Rails and RSpec • Bonus: experience building public or partner-facing API products with OpenAPI documentation • Bonus: experience in higher education advancement, nonprofit fundraising, or a nearby domain • No specific educational credential stated
