📋 Description

• Lead multi-quarter technical initiatives from problem framing through rollout • Gather user feedback and measure whether shipped work achieves its goals • Mentor and collaborate with engineers through code reviews, design feedback, and pairing • Participate in on-call for services and contribute to incident response and post-incident learning • Provide technical support during customer escalations and identify areas of user friction • Represent the team’s work across squads • Write design proposals and run demos • Advocate for the team’s roadmap in cross-team discussions • Build and evolve Grafana visualizations for accessible data insights • Work across the Grafana Frontend team and partner with other squads to solve complex engineering challenges

🎯 Requirements

• Candidates based in the United States or Canada, working in EST/CST time zones • Solid experience leading teams through projects, mentoring engineers, and serving as a force multiplier • Clear communication in a fully remote, asynchronous environment • Experience being on-call and supporting software in production • Experience ensuring reliability and responding to incidents • Ability to build production software systems and tackle complex engineering problems with minimal supervision • User-focused, pragmatic approach using short feedback loops • Familiarity with AI technologies and frameworks • Interest in contributing to the Grafana community • Preferred: open-source contribution or maintainership • Preferred: interest in observability metrics, logs, and traces, with tools such as Grafana or Prometheus • Preferred: previous on-call use of Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, or Tempo • Preferred: experience in a fully remote, globally distributed team
